RIO Part Deux

Well in the interest in full disclosure I actually closed out my position in RIO on Halloween of all days. To be quite honest I put in a limit order that day way ahead of my projections and it popped at $38.25. What's weird is the high for the day was actually $38.29, so it just got in under the gun. I'm happy I was able to pull out a 14% profit in only 12-days, however I really really do like this stock and continue to be very bullish. I'm just waiting for this to drop to the low 30's and I will pile into this stock again. My other stocks that I have current sell orders for are: DELL at $38.00; VDSI at $36.10; OMCL at $30.02; and AFSI at $12.10. As you can probably tell from the current prices I'm bullish on the first three because my limit orders are well ahead of the current prices, however I am a bit concerned with AFSI, so I have put in a stop limit order for it. They are reporting earnings on 9 November, so I will wait and see and maybe there will be some upward action prior to earnings.

MAD Money $$$$

Here is a picture of my most recent trip to my hometown of Seattle and a quick stop to Pike Place Market. I think I look pretty good in this picture. Anyway, I'm loving this market, but I still need to remain cautious and not spread myself too thin. I have been an average watcher of Jim Cramer's Mad Money and Fast Money, so I am including a link to a website that tracks the Mad Money show and recaps the entire show for those who may not have a DVR recorder. I have added a few new links to this page from Trading Goddess and Alpha Trends, so check these and of course don't forget about this blog. I still have my position in AFSI, however if it continues to fall will set a stop between $14 - $15.

Stock Trades

Well today was a day I could sit and play with my son and do a few trades. I found a really cool website a few weeks ago, which mixes trading with humor, so check it out http://suckmynasdaq.com/. Anyhow I was trading today and picked up some shares of Akamai Technologies INC (AKAM) http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=akam&p=D&b=5&g=0&id=0. Got in at $32.81 and cashed out approximately 1 hour later up over 1 point.



In addition, I also picked up some shares of Amtrust Financial Services Inc (AFSI) http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?c=afsi at $17.25 and $17.27 and it went down a bit today, but will continue to watch. A few other notables that I continue to watch are POT, NVDA, and BOOM. Not sure how the market is going to fair in the next couple of days but time will tell.
