Double Shot of X
I doubled up on my shares of U.S. Steel (X) and will now sit back and observe the market for a bit. It will be tremendously hard to sit on the sidelines, however I feel I am well positioned in stocks that will thrive going into the future.
Having witnessed the market's lackluster (that's optimistic for "miserable")reaction to this administration's sloppy attempts to remedy the current economic malaise, I concur with your conclusion that the sane approach -- currently -- is voluntary inaction. Intuitively, I believe the market is undervalued, particularly some of the big boys, but empirically, my wallet continues to shrink, and I've come to realize what I perceive as "value" and "potential" may just be my two-fisted-hurling of good money after bad. Eventually, after getting slapped enough times, maybe it's time to find a new girl to try to kiss, or just relax and grab a drink. I'm giving up trading for Lent.
