My wife and I just watched President Obama's speech to Congress. His three major thrusts for the United States moving forward are:
1). Energy
2). Healthcare
3). Education
I have my thoughts on how to best play the above ideas pushed through Congress and I will be outlining these in the next few weeks. I would love to hear any ideas from others.
As I am writing this, I am listening to the Republican response from Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. His tone seems very condescending and I feel like he is addressing a group of children and not the American public. This is NOT helping the Republican Party whatsoever. For clarity sake, I am a registered Independent who voted for John McCain.

Justin,
How did the Trading Workshop go a couple of weeks ago?
AJ.
I liked the demonstration put on by the group at Online Trading Academy (OTA). They were very nice and were not high-pressure whatsoever. They don't sell a platform, but training on how to be a more disciplined trader. They trade using the Tradestation platform, which I have never used before. The only problem is that classes (at least to me) seem expensive, but can you really put a price on training? Classes can range from a few thousand up to five thousand. They do have package/bundled discounts from $14,000 up to $24,000. They allow you to trade their account while in class and allow students unlimited re-takes for no additional cost. One of the owners was trading E-Mini S&P 500 futures prior to class and during some breaks and made about $900 in about an hour. I would recommend the free 4-hour course, but it will be up to each individual trader to take it to the next level and invest the $$$. I'm still on the fence, but if I could use my G.I. Bill then I think my decision would be alot easier. They are trying to get "certified" via Veteran's Affairs, but there is a ton of "red tape" as with any government dealing.
I've been anxiously awaiting an update on this post ... of particular interest to me is your take on where the "Energy" play lies ... are you looking toward traditional avenues (i.e coal, oil), or more toward "green" energy (solar, wind) ... or are you thinking outside the box (zinc because of the increased demand for hybrid batteries)? Would love to hear your thoughts!
