Colorado Solar Industry

There is an article in the Denver Post that briefly outlines some of Colorado's major solar energy players. Additionally, I have added a new link to The Energy Blog, which looks from at first sight very informative. So here is the list courtesy of the Denver Post. I will also be looking to post later this evening about the market and how I feel its trending towards safer plays across the board.

Recycling in Aurora Colorado

Well today started off as a regular Sunday in Aurora, Colorado. The sun was shinning and one could tell it was going to be a nice day. My wife had gone for her daily run in the morning and had returned to take the dog for a walk. Of course this drew interest from my son and daughter, who now wanted to accompany her on the trip. I decided to join along for a nice morning walk. We brought a Wal-Mart trash bag with us to clean-up after the dog once he did his thing. About half-way through the walk my wife and daughter began to pick up trash along the way and soon everyone in our family was chipping in. It's amazing how sometimes people can be so careless and just throw stuff out their cars while driving down the road. Anyhow, I wanted to just show my daughter and son that they can make an impact by picking up some trash, while out for a walk. Imagine how cleaner your neighborhood could become during your next walk.

Dry Dock Brewery

I'm taking a commercial break from investing and switching to BEER. As we head into this 2007 Memorial Day Weekend, I wish everybody a happy weekend of fun and sun. For all of us whom reside in Colorado, I recommend that you check out a kick-ass brewery in the un-assuming location of Aurora, Colorado. Dry Dock Brewery is located on the SW corner of Hampden and Chambers and both Kevins's (DeLange and Kellogg) are great guys who are more than willing to share their expertise about brewing, while serving up some of their great beers such as: USS Enterprise IPA, ESB, Vanilla Porter, Old Ale, and many many others. If you get the chance just stop by and sample what these fine gentlemen have to offer. Tell em' Justin sent ya!!!! Enjoy

DOW 13,000 and Beyoooooond

Wow!!! What can anybody say about the Dow closing at 13,089. I must say I did not expect this to happen this week at all. I'm hoping we can maintain this level, but time will tell over the long run. I established another position in a smaller refiner Holly Corporation (NYSE: HOC). Today it was a benefactor of the nice trend upward and increased by over 3% to $64.30, but was down a few sheckels in afterhours trading. Got a softball tournament this weekend and amazingly it should be in the 70's here in lovely Colorado. I will still post on the Investor's Business Daily, in which, HOC and ACH are still listed within the IBD 100.
