Heading into this Mother's Day weekend was looking pretty good. It was going to be a chance to relax, watch my daughter's last soccer game for the spring season, and give my wife a chance to relax on her special day. I was all amped up and ready to go into the weekend, when it hit...the dreaded "Blue Screen of Death" or BSOD. My computer started giving me fits and I was told that my system was in an infinite loop. It also threw of some wacky computer code of "nv4_disp" and I needed to contact my network administrator.
After messing with the computer for a bit, I gave up and unplugged the entire system and made plans to bring it in to get fixed. My wife realized that I was going through withdrawls from my financial blogs and research, so she brought her laptop downstairs. After doing a bit of research and looking around I decided to look up my "nv4_disp" nemesis.
Luckily, I ran across this site, which helped me identify my problem (NVIDIA video card drivers). Anyhow, I had to remove and reload my drivers a couple of times before it finally took, but I am extremely thankful that it did work. That my friends is the true power of information sharing. I hope everyone has a great day of trading, as I am off to short NVIDIA's stock.

The only way I have found to avoid the blue screen is to buy a mac. I lost my honeymoon pictures when my hard drive crashed, so I bought a macbook about a year ago and would never go back. Plus aapl has made me some serious coin.
